Excuses is not tolerated when you’re trying to #makempay. Many of us are making excuses and we don’t even know it. I’m TOO SHORT well look at Isaiah Thomas. I’m TOO SLOW well look at Larry Bird. I’m NOT STRONG ENOUGH well look at Kevin Durant. I’m FROM A SMALL SCHOOL well look at Steph Curry, Damin Lillard, Elfrid Payton and I could go on and on. None of that matters. Only thing maters is that you put in the work once you set your goals. The key is to SET GOALS tho. When you set goals you now have a mark that you’re trying to reach. Find out the best way to reach that mark and make it happen. Your situation doesn’t matter. What does matter is what you do with your situation.

Many players tell me they have no support. Ok I understand. Well go some place where they will support you. That might require you to go to a D2 instead of a D1. A juco instead of D3. Don’t go somewhere just to fit in or look cool. Go somewhere where is best for you to shine. If you’re in high school and you don’t have any support try moving in with other family members or friends. I can tell you right now most high school coaches is trying to get recognition so they will play there best players. If you’re not good enough to play at your high school you should beg to find another place before it’s to late. Don’t let four years go by just to say he didn’t like you or didn’t give you a chance because of favoritism. You might be right but you don’t want to be that guy at 25 saying the reason why you didn’t make it was because of a coach.

Communicate as much as possible. Ask people to help you. Don’t be shy you never know what might come from asking questions. Be aggressive with your approach and show them the hunger you have to be successful. Hopefully an opportunity comes from it. Than when you get that opportunity it’s time to #makempay
